One thing to keep in Mind is when replacing the head gasket you should have a couple things done before you slap'er back together. First you should have the head checked to see if it is warped, or cracked. If it is warped you're going to have to have it machined. If it is cracked your going to need a replacement. Next you're going to wanna replace the head studs. Don't buy any old head gasket. do some research before you buy a new one. You don't want this to happen again. Good Luck. How much is to change the blown head gasket in 2001 passat 1.8t?
